Willowdale Estate in Topsfield, MA is one of the most sought-after venues on Boston’s North Shore. Jess and Dan fell in love with the combination of the elegant and formal aesthetic of the venue, while still making you feel right at home. The estate itself is beautiful and complimented the polished look that they wanted for their wedding imagery. Jess, especially, loves flowers, and the summer gardens and courtyard at Willowdale were a big draw.

Timeless and Chic Wedding on Boston’s North Shore

Jess and Dan each got ready at the gorgeous Garrison Inn Boutique Hotel in Newburyport. Jess was one of the nicest brides to work with and put a lot of thought and consideration into her details and flowers. Everything about the day felt very beautiful and intentional. It was the perfect in-between of polished and perfect and relaxed. Jess wanted flowers that were soft and sophisticated but in the natural garden cut style. The flowers by Soulflora emulated everything that they hoped their day at Willowdale would be.

Jess’ dress and final touches were put on at Willowdale before the two of them shared their first look outside in the courtyard. I loved capturing their portraits in the courtyard and that their dog, Riley, got to join!

With looming thunderstorms overhead, it felt like the sky would open up on us at any moment as we took their family and wedding party portraits in the courtyard. Luckily, the rain never came and we captured all of the photos outside, but they ultimately decided to move their ceremony indoors to play it safe. Willowdale Estate has a beautiful Conservatory for an indoor ceremony. It is filled with light that allowed us to capture images unobtrusively in a way that felt natural and true to life. The bright floral arbor was the perfect addition!

Outdoor Tented Reception at Willowdale Estate

It was really important to Jess and Dan that they spend time with their family and friends throughout the reception. After dinner concluded and the sun went down, the night evolved into many shared laughs and time for guests to catch up with one another. Just as they hoped, everyone mingled throughout the estate and courtyard. Jess and Dan cut their cake in the courtyard that was glowing with strung bistro lights. They relaxed with guests as they all enjoyed dessert before making their way to the dance floor. I could not be happier for this wonderful couple!
