Cinema and Brazil Inspired Wedding at Wentworth by the Sea Country Club
There’s no doubt that Victoria and Marcos know how to celebrate in style. They invited their closest family and friends to join them at Wentworth by the Sea Country Club for their summer wedding.
These two Bostonites are lovers of all things lifestyle — from movies and fun outings, to art and fashion. The vision they had for their day infused many of their favorite lifestyle items into the experience they created for their guests. Combining a romantic coastal theme with Marcos’ Brazillian heritage, this wedding had no shortage of details that paid homage to their interests and history.
A Color Scheme Inspired by the Ocean and Brazil
Inspired by the gentle colors of sunrise and sunset over water, with a subtle nod to Brazil’s colors — gold, representing the richness of soil and gold reserves; and green, representing the vast flora and fauna in the Amazon.
One-of-a-kind floral Lazaro gown — and real florals to match!
As a nod to the flora of her soon-to-be-husband’s native country, Victoria selected a one-of-a-kind floral Lazaro gown. Working alongside the team at Jardiniere Flowers in Portsmouth, NH, Victoria’s bouquet was constructed of many of the florals printed across her gown. The combination of her gown and florals at the altar was stunning.
Shoes of Gold and Choreographed Dance
Victoria’s Jimmy Choo heels were selected as the gold element to tie the Brazillian color into her wardrobe. She and Marcos danced their first dance to “Garota de Ipanema”, a Brazilian bossa nova and jazz song written by Antônio Carlos Jobim in 1962. The song has been used in various films, which perfectly connected the other passion they wove into their wedding vision — film!
Bringing Cinema to Wentworth by the Sea Country Club
Victoria and Marcos bonded over films early on in their relationship. Being big fans of all things cinema, it only felt right to incorporate this shared love into their wedding day. Their pre-ceremony score included songs from childhood favorites, such as Beauty & the Beast and The Lion King — leading into a processional to the theme of Jurassic Park (her personal favorite). Once officially named husband and wife by their two dear friends that lead the ceremony, Victoria and Marcos recessed to the main theme from Star Wars.
Beneath their Sperry sailcloth tent, the couple’s reception design carried on the cinema theme. Escort cards and a seating chart arranged guests by tables named after their favorite films; a vintage cinema sign displayed their names and the date; and a popcorn machine popped away into the night, with customized bags for guests to enjoy the treat in.
