Boston Dog Lovers Engagement Session

Kate and James are a fun-loving, laid-back couple! These Boston dog lovers wanted their engagement photos to of course include their pups, Bagel and Charlie. After all – they are the reason they met in the first place! Kate and James both relocated to Boston for work and ended up living in the same apartment building with their pups. The dogs were both puppies at the time and nearly the same age. One day they insisted on an introduction in the entryway and the rest is history!

Boston Dog Lovers Engagement Photos

Kate and James both just happen to be from the Midwest and wanted to use their engagement photos as a way to capture themselves in the place they now call home. There was no question we would include Bagel, the Cavapoo, and Charlie, the Golden Retriever, in their photos. We started their session in Back Bay on Commonwealth Ave and the dogs arrived all dressed up in their bows! With the help of For the Love of Paws, we posed Bagel and Charlie along with Kate and James for some full family photos, as well as some individuals of the pups on their own.

Once Bagel and Charlie had their fill of the spotlight, For the Love of Paws brought them home so that Katie and James could enjoy some session time with just the two of them. I cannot recommend For the Love of Paws enough! Having a dog handler with you during engagement photos will ensure everything will go smoothly and you can just focus on relaxing and enjoying your session and knowing your furry friends are well taken care of!

Fun and Laid-Back Boston Engagement Session

We enjoyed the beautiful day and walked down Comm. Ave and into the Public Garden. I always love using the beautiful city streets of Boston as a backdrop for candid photos. Kate and James opted for two outfits for some variety – one more casual, day-to-day outfit, and one that was slightly more dressed up. I always recommend an outfit change when possible to get a great variety of photos and get the most out of your session! Learn more about selecting outfits for your engagement photos.

To end the session in a celebratory fashion, we found a quiet space to enjoy some Veuve champagne and a custom cake from their favorite neighborhood bakery. They cheersed and ate as the sun set for the evening down the street behind us! Their photos were a great way to capture the place they call home and share them with family and friends who will be traveling to the East Coast for their wedding celebration next summer!
