Spring Washington, DC Engagement Session

Beautiful couple, an engagement session, AND a travel destination?! SIGN. ME. UP. Liz and Austin will be tying the knot in New Hampshire later this year, but also knew that it was important for them to have some photos done closer to home — Washington, DC!

Photographing Liz and Austin was like the ultimate tour of the National Mall. Most of it, anyways. Our session timing hit just about perfectly with the DC Spring Equinox — the timing when the sun rises exactly over the Washington monument and sets right over Lincoln. I normally prefer golden hour end-of-day sessions (for the AMAZING lighting), but was excited that these two were up for a sunrise shoot to beat the crowds!

PS – whenever I have a client on the fence about an engagement session, I ALWAYS hear afterward that they are so glad they did it. We get to know each other, you get comfortable being the subject of the camera, and we get to document REAL LIFE (not just the dream day you’ve been planning for months/years). There’s something pretty special about that.
