Tucked away on the southwest shoreline of Rhode Island, is one of our personal favorite destinations — Watch Hill! Watch Hill is a neighborhood in Westerly, Rhode Island. From photo sessions in Watch Hill and Quonnie to personal trips to Ocean House and the Weekapaug Inn, it’s an area of Rhode Island that we’ve come to love visiting!

A Watch Hill Engagement Session in Waverly, Rhode Island

This Watch Hill engagement session started on the paths of the Napatree Point Conservation Area. Ashton and Tommy chose a casual but chic look for their first engagement session outfit — Ashton’s feathered sleeves gave the perfect bit of fun flair to the outfit!

When planning for their session, Ashton came to us wanting images that felt authentic, with a more candid approach to posing to go along with some of the traditional, “looking at the camera” poses. She also liked images that showed movement and a bit of motion blur. So throughout the session, we focused on keeping everyone moving and feeling authentic to who they are as a couple!

Ocean House and East Beach for Engagement Photos

After a quick outfit change into their more formal (but still beach appropriate) look, we walked through the downtown area of Watch Hill and up to Ocean House! Ocean House is a historic, luxury hotel in Watch Hill. It’s been meticulously restored and is known for its exceptional service. Those who know it, will know the yellow facade instantly!

From up top, overlooking the ocean, and then down to the boardwalk, we explored the property and stopped for photos along the way! The hotel’s property opens up onto Westerly’s East Beach — a gorgeous sandy beach area, also known for its view of Taylor Swift’s renowned home, High Watch (also known as Holiday House).
